About Vének - Place of the EC
Vének is a small town in the Szigetköz, 10 km-s from Győr city, at the meeting of Big-Danube and Mosoni-Danube.
Szigetköz is one of Hungary's beautiful parts, full of attractions. It's a protected area.
It has a lot of rare plant and animal species.
Vének's history goes back to 1093, when it was mentioned in a certificate. During the history it was always one of the Pannonhalma Archabbey's main fishing villages.
With the help of the local people there will be a lot of fish and cauldron food waiting for the visitors of the European Championships.
